Through her youth, Rita Randolph was like a vast majority of us, thinking she had no innate ability to do art. But then close to retirement, she met her mentor, George Douthit of Florence, Colorado. His encouragement and love of watercolor, inspired her to learn. She checked out books from the library, watched you tube videos, and began to enroll in various classes around the country, including Yosemite and Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. Though watercolor is her passion she has branched out to acrylic painting, with a few featured here.

Rita’s conviction is that everyone has the ability to do art. If they have the desire and are willing to put in the time, they can discover the joy of art.

This conviction and her desire to share the joy of art lead her to teach watercolor locally and at Yosemite and Ghost Ranch. She finds teaching watercolors to beginners enormously satisfying, passing on her joy and passion for the medium.
